TESS Privacy Policy

TESS (Therapeutic Engagement & Support System) supports communication, wellbeing, memories, entertainment and person-centred care.

Information we process

When you create an account we process your name, email address, date of birth, profile preferences and authentication information. Features you choose may process contacts, care information, favourites, call history, photos, camera and microphone input, approximate or precise location, reminders and AI chat content.

How information is used

We use information to authenticate you, provide requested features, personalise accessibility and care settings, enable calls and shared moments, provide location-based weather, maintain security, and diagnose service problems. TESS does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Service providers

TESS uses Google Firebase for authentication, database and file storage; Google Cloud services for app features; Open-Meteo and related geocoding services for weather; and external media or AI providers only when their relevant feature is used. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy obligations.

Retention and deletion

Account information is retained while the account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated TESS data in the app under Settings > Delete account. You may also follow the instructions on the account deletion page. Some limited records may be retained when legally required or for security and fraud prevention.

Your choices

You can use guest mode for many features, deny optional device permissions, edit profile settings, sign out, or delete your account. Device permissions can also be changed in Android settings.

Children and care settings

TESS is designed for use by adults, care recipients and their authorised carers. It is not directed to children under 13. Carers should only enter information they are authorised to manage.
